Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 24, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how V2M ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on v2m.app (the "Service"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy. We comply with the EU ePrivacy Directive, the GDPR, the California CPRA, and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and we follow Google's Publisher and AdSense cookie requirements.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, pixel tags, device fingerprints, and software development kits (SDKs). In this policy, the word "cookies" covers all of them.
2. Categories of cookies we use
Today the Service only loads strictly necessary cookies automatically. Analytics and advertising cookies are loaded only if those features are enabled in the future and you have given consent (where required by law).
- Strictly necessary (always on): a small amount of
localStorageremembers your last conversion preset (format, codec, resolution). Without these, parts of the converter UI would reset on every visit. These are not used for tracking. - Analytics / performance (only with consent): aggregated, pseudonymous statistics such as page views, country, and device type, used to understand traffic and improve the Service. Where required by law, these are loaded only after consent.
- Advertising (only with consent): if ads are displayed, our ad partners (including Google AdSense) may set cookies to measure ad delivery, control frequency capping, detect invalid traffic, and personalize ads based on your visits to this and other sites.
- Security: cookies and similar techniques used to detect abuse, bots, and fraud.
3. Google AdSense and third-party advertising
Where ads are enabled, this Service uses third-party advertising companies, including Google, to serve ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website and/or other websites on the Internet. Google's use of advertising cookies — including the DoubleClick/__gads, __gpi, NID, and IDE cookies — enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this Service and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You may also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices, YourOnlineChoices (EU), or NAI Opt-out.
For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we collect consent for non-essential cookies and personalized ads through a Google- certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) in line with Google's EU User Consent Policy. You can change or withdraw consent at any time via the "Cookie settings" link (when displayed) or by clearing cookies in your browser.
4. Cookies we set
v2m_settings— strictly necessary, stored in localStorage, no expiry until you clear it.- Analytics cookies (where enabled) — typically up to 26 months.
- Google advertising cookies (where enabled) — set by Google; see Google's policies for current durations.
5. Managing your choices
You can control cookies through your browser. Popular guides: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may break parts of the Service.
You can also use Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals from your browser; we treat GPC as a valid opt-out request for "sale" or "sharing" under the CCPA/CPRA.
6. Do Not Track
Because there is no industry consensus on how to interpret Do Not Track (DNT) signals, the Service currently does not respond to DNT browser headers. We do honour GPC signals as described above.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
