Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you ("user", "you") and V2M ("we", "us"), the operator of v2m.app (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and DMCA / Copyright Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
This document also serves as the published "rules and regulations, privacy policy and user agreement" required of intermediaries under Rule 3(1)(a) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 of India.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or 18 years old if you are a resident of India, in accordance with the Indian Contract Act, 1872 and §9 of the DPDP Act, 2023) to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement.
2. The Service
V2M is a free, browser-based video converter. All decoding and encoding occurs locally on your device using FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. We never upload, store, or process your video files on our servers. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to host, display, upload, modify, publish, transmit, store, update, or share any information through, with, or by means of the Service that:
- Belongs to another person and to which you do not have any right;
- Is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of another's privacy (including bodily privacy), insulting or harassing on the basis of gender, libellous, racially or ethnically objectionable, or otherwise inconsistent with or contrary to the laws in force;
- Is harmful to children;
- Infringes any patent, trademark, copyright, or other proprietary rights;
- Violates any law for the time being in force;
- Deceives or misleads the addressee about the origin of the message, or knowingly and intentionally communicates any misinformation or information which is patently false and untrue or misleading in nature;
- Impersonates another person;
- Threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign States, or public order, or causes incitement to the commission of any cognisable offence, or prevents investigation of any offence, or insults any other nation;
- Contains software viruses or any other computer code, file, or program designed to interrupt, destroy, or limit the functionality of any computer resource;
- Is patently false and untrue, and is written or published in any form, with the intent to mislead or harass a person, entity, or agency for financial gain or to cause any injury to any person.
These restrictions are derived from Rule 3(1)(b) of the IT (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, 2021 and apply in addition to all other applicable laws. Although we have no technical access to your files (they never leave your browser), violations may still attract liability under applicable law and we may suspend access in response to a valid court order or government direction.
4. Intellectual property
You retain all rights, title, and interest in and to the videos you process. The V2M name, logo, source code, design, and content of the Service are our property or licensed to us and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of India and other jurisdictions. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal or internal business purposes consistent with these Terms.
5. Third-party services and advertising
The Service may display advertising served by third parties (including Google AdSense) and may link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third party. Your interactions with advertisers and third-party services are solely between you and them.
6. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, uninterrupted access, or freedom from viruses or errors. We do not warrant that conversions will be lossless, error-free, or compatible with every device or player.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall V2M or its operators, officers, employees, affiliates, agents, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, or file corruption — arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed INR 1,000 (or USD 12, whichever is lower).
8. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless V2M and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party or applicable law.
9. Termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason — including suspected violation of these Terms, a binding court order, a direction from a competent government authority, or to protect the integrity of the Service. Sections 4–11 survive termination.
10. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to applicable consumer protection laws of your country of residence, the courts at Lohardaga, Jharkhand, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service.
For consumers resident in the EU, nothing in these Terms affects your right to bring proceedings in your country of residence under mandatory local law.
11. Grievance redressal (India)
In accordance with the IT Act, 2000 and Rule 3(2) of the IT (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, 2021, complaints regarding the Service or this document may be addressed to our Grievance Officer:

12. Changes to these Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time by posting the revised version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
